Call for artists Fira Mediterrania Manresa

Deadline:

Fira Mediterrània Manresa is the strategic fair for artistic projects which use root influences, tradition and folk culture as the drivers of creativity. Fira Mediterrània works with what we like to call 360 degrees of roots, starting with the first level, intangible heritage; continuing through folk and traditional culture associations, which take that heritage and work to connect it with society; and ending with the professional sector, the artists whose creations are based on that tradition. At the Fira, we place particular importance on the interchange, interrelation and intersection of all of those elements.

PRESENTATION DEADLINE: Thursday, 22 January 2026, at 23:59.

The Fira is a multidisciplinary fair, where we feature three main itineraries:

  • Music: including both the world and folk music scenes, with the latest offerings from the Catalan roots scene as highlights.
  • Dance: with a dynamic perspective on traditional roots and folk culture.
  • Memory, legacy and oral storytelling: with performance and outdoor arts, particularly theatre and circus projects, which draw on folk culture.

This approach is materialised through the programme, which incorporates projects which take traditional roots with multi-faceted outlooks as their creative driving force, in order to speak to us in the present.

A share of the Fira Mediterrània programme is structured based on three key elements:

  • Perspectives: projects from artists who do not usually work with roots and are offering their specific perspective on folk and traditional culture.
  • Young people: projects from emerging artists who have already focused their creative output on traditional roots influences.
  • The present: projects that emphasise a creative source that does not exist externally to the reality around us and that, through the language of roots and folk and traditional culture, can speak to us and reflect on what is transpiring in society today.
