As the support center for circus in Flanders, Circuscentrum was commissioned to draw up a landscape sketch of the Flemish circus sector. This landscape sketch offers a detailed representation of the current Flemish circus landscape, including insights into the actors, dynamics, relationships, practices, trends, issues and needs in the context of a rapidly changing society. It is not just a snapshot, but a shared learning journey that brings the sector together to reflect, learn and grow.
On November 15, 2024, Circuscentrum launched the first and long-awaited Landscape Sketch Circus at Wintercircus in Ghent. This event was the culmination of a process in which the Flemish circus sector came together to reflect on its current state and plan for the future. We shared key insights, trends and recommendations, and through a varied program we encouraged dialogue and reflection to continue to build the growth of the sector together.
