What are you researching, making, thinking, questioning, or exploring through circus?

CALS — Circus: Arts, Life and Sciences is inviting submissions for our next general issue exploring the many ways circus can be understood, studied, practiced, and shared.

We welcome contributions from researchers, artists, practitioners, and scholars across the sciences, humanities, and artistic practice, including:
  • Arts & Sciences — research articles and other scholarly contributions
  • Life — video essays accompanied by a research statement
  • Work that engages with circus as an inclusive, experimental, culturally diverse and boundary-challenging art form
  • Submissions may be written in English or French.

Deadline for Issue 6.2: 29 October 2026
