On 15 March, Noemi De Clercq stepped down as director of Circuscentrum. During her time at Circuscentrum, she helped shape the centre’s operations and contributed to the further development and visibility of the Flemish circus sector. With her dedication and keen insight, she left a clear mark on the organisation. We would therefore like to express our sincere thanks to Noemi for her dedication and wish her all the best in her future endeavours. Following her departure, Anne Ceulebrouck and Liv Laveyne will jointly take over the leadership of Circuscentrum.
“We face challenging times in the circus world and beyond, but now more than ever, an open-minded approach and a resilient attitude are crucial. We believe in the power of the circus in all its forms and aim to support, promote and strengthen it in the best possible way in the coming years.”
As Policy and Internal Organisation Coordinator, Anne is primarily responsible for team management and operational management. She also remains responsible for data and information management. As Policy and External Relations Coordinator, Liv continues to develop the network within the sector and connections with other sectors and policy areas. She also continues her work on reflection and perception within and regarding the circus.
In recent months, following the latest funding decisions, Circuscentrum has undergone a major reorganisation. At the same time, the policy plan was updated and strategic decisions were made. In the coming policy period, we will of course continue to focus on providing strong support to the sector and on strengthening the position of circus within the wider arts landscape.
