Through a multidisciplinary training program, the Prep stage provides you with both technical and artistic tools that will prepare you for potential auditions at circus schools. The training is delivered by a strong team of professional instructors and former college students who are now active as performers.

Terms and Conditions

• At least 15 years old and intensively involved in circus.
• Demonstrable technical mastery of at least one circus discipline.
• Open to a multidisciplinary approach: in addition to circus, we also work on dance, acting and creation.
• Be willing to learn, be ambitious and have the desire to grow.

Program

ATTENTION: The program and organization of the Prep Stage has changed!

Due to recent government cuts and reduced subsidies – both at ESAC and Circuscentrum – we will unfortunately not be able to offer the full internship program in 2026.

That's disappointing, of course, but we're not giving up. We'll continue to look for as many training opportunities as possible to best prepare you for professional circus training.

Circuscentrum is organizing one more Prep internship week this spring for Flemish circus youth: from April 6th to 10th during the Easter holidays in Ghent (at Circusplaneet). Those who participated in the internship or selections last year and are now preparing for potential auditions will of course be given priority, but there is certainly room for new participants as well (your application will be discussed with your circus studio beforehand).

If you have already submitted the form below (or will do so before December 30th), you will soon receive an invitation and all the practical information about this internship week.

With our French-speaking partner Up Circus & Performing Arts, you can also apply for a Prep internship week in Brussels during the spring break, from February 16th to 20th . If you'd like to participate, please send an email (in English or French) as soon as possible to formations@upupup.be .

PS: They also organize an internship from May 4 to 8, but unfortunately that does not fall within the holiday period for Flemish young people.

There are also a few spots available in UP's 'Labo des Ados' for those who want to delve deeper into specific disciplines or artistic practices. Check out the available options here .

ESAC in Brussels is also considering making the college's workspaces available for weekend training and opportunities to meet (former) ESAC students. This is intended for young circus artists who aspire to pursue circus training later in life. Those who have applied for the Prep internship will be automatically notified.
