Almost all of our projects are run in cooperation with respected organisations, both national and international. A summary.

De Expeditie

De Expeditie NPO manages the cultural business compound at the former ACEC site in Ghent. The Circuscentrum is one of the partners in the reconversion of the old industrial site. There is a working space available for use by artists and companies as well.

Dommelhof

Dommelhof (Neerpelt, Belgium) is one of the most important places for circus arts in Belgium, both for starting and well-established artists. Every year, several companies develop new creations there. The Circuscentrum's unicycle convention, BIC training (instructor in the circus arts) and animateur course for circus arts all take place at Dommelhof.

ESAC

The Ecole Supérieure des Arts du Cirque (University College for Circus Arts) is a University College in Brussels and is known to offer one of the world's best circus arts trainings. For some years, the Circuscentrum and ESAC have been providing 'Training for young talent'.

EYCO

EYCO (European Youth Circus Organisation) currently represents 450 youth circuses, 2,000 trainers and about 540,000 children and youngsters that take circus classes. The Circuscentrum is one of the five founders of this organisation.

Les Halles

Les Halles is noted for its structural programming of circus arts. Every two years, the contemporary circus festival Hors Pistes takes place during which promising talent and top performers are given a chance. The Circuscentrum and Les Halles jointly organised the Archaos-In Vitro project in 2010.

Huis Van Alijn

This Ghent museum for everyday culture boast an important circus collection (formerly belonging to André De Poorter) and frequently works with the Circuscentrum, for instance during the Ghent Festivities 2010 when three renowned circus artists were interviewed by Les Poupées.

Humorologie

The Circuscentrum is partners with Humorologie, the 'Festival van Verwondering' that, besides humour, also presented contemporary first-rate circus in the last few years. Humorologie has been structurally recognised as a circus festival in accordance with the Circus Decree.

Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe

Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe (JTCE), is an artistic support program for starting European circus artists. Following a careful selection, the JTCE promotes artistic research and development as regards content, technique and finance. The Circuscentrum is a regular member of the jury and representative of the Center Pole.

Vooruit Arts Centre

Vooruit Arts Centre and the Circuscentrum join hands to help contemporary circus arts in Flanders gain its deserved cultural acknowledgement. Starting from 2011, a number of foreign and domestic top productions is programmed at Vooruit.

MiramirO

MiramirO is primarily known for its International Street Theatre Festival during the Ghent Festivities (structurally recognised in accordance with the Circus Decree), however, the organisation also produces performances and has an important documentation centre. MiramirO and the Circuscentrum work together for e.g. the Youth Circus Festival and the SAIL online database.

Mooss NPO

Since 2010, the Circuscentrum and Mooss NPO organise the animateur course for circus arts during which young people between 16 and 18 years old are trained as a coach. With this certificate, they can participate in the advanced animateur course.

La Maison du Cirque

Since 2010, the Circuscentrum's Walloon sister organisation is housed in the heart of Brussels and is improving publicity and quality of circus arts on the other side of the Belgian language border. La Maison du Cirque and Circuscentrum work closely together on international projects.

Ostend 2010

In 2010, Ostend was the first cultural capital in Flanders. Their circus programme was arranged by the Circuscentrum: '5 Days of Circus', five days of top-notch Belgian circus during Easter holidays.

Theater op de Markt

Theater op de Markt is connected to Dommelhof and consists of an internationally renowned circus festival in the autumn of every odd year (Neerpelt, Belgium), and an impressive street theatre festival in the summer of every even year (Hasselt, Belgium). During the circus festival, the Circuscentrum presents a number of productions by circus studios.

Trefpunt

Trefpunt npo is a key organisation during the Ghent Festivities and for the Youth Circus Festival. Beside that, the npo has a music and theatre cafe and their own experimental productions.

Flemish Circus Studios

Many of the Circuscentrum's projects are aimed at the circus studios and jointly organised. Without them and their students, the Flemish circus scene would have been bare and cheerless.

VTi

The Institute for the professional performing arts in Flanders supports the performing arts in three ways: through documentation, research and interaction; among other things via the quarterly publication of 'Courant'. May 2011's edition was entirely dedicated to circus arts, a joint edition by the Circuscentrum and the VTi.
