Bert & Fred - 'I start to like you' (creation 2011)

'I start to like you' is an oddity, a journey through the absurd, images that linger, now and then a blemish one cannot take one's eyes off. An ordinary day in two persons' everyday lives. They do not question the same things the audience does.

Bart and Frédérique graduated from AcaPA (Tilburg, Netherlands) in 2011 and have for some years been touring Europe with the productions Circlou and Maza, out of the Kluster npo collective. Their newest production 'I start to like you' has been selected for the celebrated Future Circus 2011 (a Finnish circus festival), and leans towards performance art.

Human relations are exposed in a humorous, angry and tender way while the connection between animal, human, space and power is scrutinised.

Cirq'ulation Locale – 'Second Life' (creation 2011)

In their newest creation, Cirq'ulation Locale for the first time combines all the techniques they have been specialised in since the start. The element that genuinely strengthens the performance is the wall built with several platforms behind the trampoline, that offers splendid opportunities for acrobatics and juggling. Add to this the success of the conical beams of light from their previous show and the beautiful, spectacular lighting and the result is a moving, unique visual performance.

Cirq'ulation Locale – 'Laat je niet Kisten' (creation 2011)

Acrobats Jan, Lonis and Benny decide to create a circus performance together. An exemplary performance with juggling, diabolos, acrobatics and sharp stunts. In short, a full dress performance as in a real circus but without the big top and animals. Only, Jan would rather play music, appease his passion of playing the saxophone on the stage. Lonis wants to sing and dance, he has always wanted to star in a musical. And Benny, well... what is it Benny wants? Or has he already fulfilled his dreams?

BabaFish – 'I, Mistress & Wife' (creation 2011)

theatrical performances. Babafish is Anna Nilsson, Michela Henle and Anke Bucher. 'I, Mistress & Wife' is the story of three women escaping the world in which they had lost themselves. Rode Boom – 'La ville qui respire' (creation 2010-2011)

'La ville qui respire' (The breathing city), the newest project of mentalist Kurt Demey, is a series of short stories in which townspeople gather stories hidden in the city. In each of the five short scenes, six spectators participate in a ritual. This means that 300 spectators a day can participate in the performance. 'La ville qui respire' is not your usual spectacle because the audience's participation is essential. It is the audience that puts on the performance.

Cirkanto – 'Volta' (creation 2010)

Juan Trukyman is a singing bon vivant. Madam visits Juans world of sunshine and music as a tourist. They get to know each other, play music together and become friends. But then Madams vacation is over. 'Volta' is visual circus theatre with live music and puppet theatre for people aged 4 and older.

Cirkanto is an international company that was founded in 2001 by Karen Claessens (Belgium) and Juan Luis Quintanar Arriëta aka Juan Trukyman (Cuba). In 'Volta', these artists are joined by clown/musician Lars Senders (Latzi Jones).

Circus Marcel & Theater Luxemburg – 'Fietsen' (creation 2010)

How to ride a bike? That is a relevant question for many children, as for Bet. Bet still rides a tricycle but longs to ride a grown-up's bicycle. So she looks for someone to teach her. But whoever tries to help, they never succeed. Fortunately, grandmother Mona is never at a loss.

'Fietsen' ('Cycling')was received with wild enthusiasm in 1995 by the press and audiences. Fifteen years after her production debut, Arlette Van Overvelt re-examines this beautiful story by Gregie De Maeyer, this time in cooperation with Circus Marcel. Because the new 'Fietsen' is theatre mixed with a great deal of circus and a grand finale. With Joppe Wouters and Chloë Vancompemolle among others.

Circo Ripopolo and Laika – 'Cucinema' (creation 2010)

A kitchen and chaos are like cat and dog. To cook not only requires talent, but organisation as well. In 'Cucinema', cooks and actors challenge the usual discipline and order in a professional kitchen. Refined culinary art techniques are brushed aside and replaced by a bizarre and amusing way of cookery.

Theatre company Laika and circus duo Circo Ripopolo let the audience catch a glimpse of their wonderfully chaotic kitchen. The camera hides nothing from our view. Images dance on aprons and tablecloths. Bottles balance on the rim and dishes step right out of the screen.

>> Creation and performance: Anouk David, Peter De Bie, Caroline Fransens, Stef Geers, Ief Gillis, Manuela Lauwers, Alain Rinckhout, Michiel Soete and Stefan Vanbergen

Sweatshop Cie – 'Sibling' (creation 2010)

An acrobatic opera blending circus and variety theatre into a colourful performance composed as a grim, futuristic fable. 'Sibling' invites you behind the scenes of a circus family: a magnificent world of fame and
decadence, scandals and intrigue. This surreal fairy tale about the devouring desires and disguises of the modern man is a production by Artboem npo.

Cie Circ'ombelico – 'Da/Fort' (creation 2010)

>> Creation & performance: Iris Carta and Jef Naets.
>> Production: Titoune (Cirque Trottola)

Dirque & Fien – 'Carrousels des Moutons' (creation 2010)

Contemporary circus: a piano as an acrobat, countless sheep juggling in you head, a broom as a trapeze, your own body as a tent, your mind as a circus ring. 'Carrousels des Moutons' lets you be sharp-eyed with your eyes closed. A moonless sleep is more exciting than waking. And unquestionably impossible things do happen: Dirque & Fien in Wonderland.

>> Creation and performance: Dirk Van Boxelaere and Fien Van Herwegen

Cirque Cirqulaire – 'Ciné-Sirk' (creation 2010)

'Ciné-Sirk' takes place around 1930, during the magical period of fairs and carnivals, fortune tellers and fakirs. Jugglers, knife-throwers, magicians and even the world's strongest dwarf perform in a particularly comfortable, intimate and small circus tent. In short, 'Ciné-Sirk is original circus theatre with a very interactive touch.

>> Creation & performance: Benjamin Rummens and Werner Moonens

Collectif Malunés – 'Sens Dessus Dessous' (creation 2010)

From the roof over a dancing bench to a trapeze that swipes away all worries, the residents of a colourful caravan throw each other into the air. The three big fellows and their woman are not deterred by a little recklessness. 'Sens Dessus Dessous' is an explosive, spectacular and crazy circus performance during which the performers dash to every corner and back, all caused by the tasting of an apple.

>> Creation & performance: Simon Bruyninckx, Arne Sabbe, Juliette Correa and Vincent Bruyninckx.

Hendrik & Co – 'Petit Bizar' (creation 2010)

An expounder/commentator, boiling with touching self-assurance and a more realistic musical assistant, inherited a unique automaton from 1921. After a number of necessary repairs, they must present 'Petit Bizar' to the world at any price: an ingenious music/images/art-machine. Reveal it all! Let it go at full speed! Lanterna Magica Musica... because one thing that will not stand in a visionary's way, is surely reality!
